"Well, there he is. You gonna ask or what?"

"Um, well, I g-guess so..."

Kiba shook his head.

"Come on, Hinata, just go ahead and ask him if he wants to go. Don't freak out about it."

"O-Okay..."

Hinata nervously took a step forward, but Naruto turned and saw her, and she stepped back.

"Oh, hey, Hinata! What are you doing here?"

"Oh, um, well, I..."

She twiddled her fingers as her cheeks lit up bright red.

"I was going to ask, um, if you th-think you m-might..."

"Well, come on, what is it?"

Hinata squeezed her eyes shut and talked quickly.

"I have these tickets to a concert, and I wanted to see if you wanted to come with me!"

"Huh? A concert?"

Hinata madly twiddled her fingers and stared at them as if she did not know what they were doing.

"Sounds cool! When is it?"

"Oh, it's t-tomorrow night... I was going to ask you sooner, but... I kind of..."

She trailed off.

"That's okay! I'll see you there! Where do you want to meet up?"

"W-Wherever you want to meet, Naruto."

"Okay."

Naruto put his hands behind his head.

"Hmm...How about right here?"

"Sure! Oh! And it's a formal theme, s-so be sure to dress up, okay?"

" 'Kay! See you tomorrow, then, Hinata! I'm off for some training!"

"O-Okay! Bye, Naruto!"

She watched as the orange-and-blue-clad genin ran off.

"I'll see you later, too, Hinata."

The Inuzuka walked off slowly, patting Akamaru, who was in his hoodie, on the head as he left.

Hinata nervously fumbled with her necklace and eyed the clock in her room. She still had a few minutes before she was to meet up with Naruto. She exhaled slowly, wrapped the chain around her neck, and hooked the ends together. The crystal in the middle hung just below her collarbone, which was visible above Hinata's shiny purple dress. She slipped on her shoes.

"Okay..."

She put her hand on her shoulder for a moment, took a deep breath, and opened the door. The girl soon found herself where she had agreed to meet Naruto, a few buildings away from Ichiraku. She quickly turned at the sound of footsteps to her right. Naruto was coming. He was dressed in black, which may have been his only fairly dressy clothes.

"Hey, Hinata!" he said, waving and still at a distance.

The boy arrived at the corner of the building where Hinata was. He blinked, looking ever so slightly confused.

"You... look... n-nice."

"Th-thank you! ...Are you, um, ready to go?"

"Uh, yeah, sure!"

"Okay. It's this way..."

A few minutes later, they were both in line for the concert. A guard asked for the tickets for the couple in front of Naruto and Hinata. The said couple passed through, and Naruto and Hinata were first in line.

"Tickets."

Tickets in hand, Hinata handed over the requested items. The guard ripped the papers in half, gave them back, and let the two ninja inside.

"Whoa, this is cool!"

Naruto looked around the dim settings. He pointed up at a balcony.

"Can we sit up there?"

"Sure, if you want to, Naruto..."

"Come on!"

The boy grabbed Hinata's wrist and led the two through the crowd in the direction of the stairs. Hinata was blushing quite a bit.

Naruto is holding my hand!

"Hurry, it's about to start!"

The two sat down in the first available seats on the balcony. A few neon lights came on onstage, and the curtains rolled back. A chord was struck on a guitar, and the concert commenced.

Hinata peered at a clock. It read 10:00.

"Wow, it's sure lasting a while, isn't it, Naruto? Naruto?"

The boy next to her was fast asleep. His head leaned to the side a little and after a few seconds fell on Hinata's shoulder. The Hyuga's eyes opened wide and her face went red.

"N-Naruto?"

He was still asleep. Hinata squirmed a little. The concert continued.

Two songs later, one of Naruto's eyes opened.

Huh?

He grunted a little and sat back up, rubbing his eye.

"Oh! Naruto, you're awake!"

"Huh? What? I fell asleep?! Aw, darn! How many songs did I miss?"

"Um, just t-two..."

The guitarist struck his final chord, and the crowd went wild. The curtains closed, and the house lights were back on.

"It's over already? Darn!"

Seats flapped as the crowd stood and evacuated the building. It was pretty crowded since there were only two exits and who knows how many people. Naruto and Hinata were walking side by side, trying to avoid the swarms of people. This effort proved meaningless, as a crowd moving past pushed the kunoichi over just enough for her to be pushed into Naruto's arms.

"Oh! S-Sorry, Naruto!"

"Uh, no problem, don't worry about it."

Gradually, the two made their way out into the moonlight.

"Well, um, th-thank you for going with me..."

"Thanks for bringing me."

The shinobi looked over Hinata for a moment.

"You... You really look beautiful tonight, Hinata," he said after some hesitation.

A wide blush immediately spread across the girl's face, a much lighter one coming across Naruto's.

"Y-you... I... I-I mean-" Hinata stuttered.

"Ssh." Naruto put his finger to the kunoichi's lips. He locked his eyes into hers for a moment. Naruto slowly leaned forward and laid a kiss on Hinata's cheek. She was breathing shallowly, almost hyperventilating.

"N-Naruto-!"

Hinata gingerly placed her hand on her cheek and looked back up at the shinobi facing her. Naruto grinned.

"I'm glad you brought me."

N-Naruto...

Hinata watched as he took his first couple of steps past. Almost subconsciously, she rushed forward and hugged Naruto from behind, her arms wrapped around his shoulders. The blonde turned around and reflected the embrace, and the two stood, locked in position, until the moonlight faded.
